Today, we are launching our new initiative 'Recipe for Success' that seeks to foster female talent in the UK food industry, led by our newly-appointed CMO Inés Ures.
In the UK only 17%* of chef positions are filled by women. We want to increase opportunities for women across the country entering the male-dominated restaurant industry, starting with this new initiative.
With Recipe for Success, we are offering women pursuing a career in the food business exclusive access to a line up of female leaders within the company.
The scheme will give female food entrepreneurs - those with a new concept, whether chefs or restaurant managers - the support to create and launch their own food brand. Culinary talent and foodie entrepreneurs who impress can even build a virtual brand developed with us - through Deliveroo Editions, our market leading super kitchens which have helped launch brands such as Lolo Poke by Yoobi and The Chickpea by Waleema.
Successful applicants will be invited to attend a workshop at Deliveroo HQ, where they can present concepts to a team of industry-leading figures, including our CMO Inés Ures and Head of Partner Success for Deliveroo Editions Kate O'Carroll. Female leaders will share advice on building strong business plans, developing concepts, tips on what makes a successful concept launch, plus our invaluable data and market insights.
Deliveroo CMO Inés Ures said "With this new initiative we want to support female chefs and entrepreneurs across the country the chance to realise their dreams and ambitions. At Deliveroo we are powered every day by amazing women in every facet of the business. We want to see more of this in Britain's restaurant industry."
