The best meals in Manchester

As one of the earliest adopters of the edible ice cream cone, home of the Manchester tart and the birthplace of Vimto, Manchester's created some classic British treats. Today it's secured its place as a culinary capital, with amazing restaurants, breakfast spots and BBQ joints, which you can find here on Deliveroo.

Fuzion

Fuzion serves up flavoursome dishes inspired by Asia's buzzing street food scene, with all your favourites on the menu from a chicken katsu to their tasty Pad Thai. A lot of passion's gone into making Fuzion the vibrant hangout that is it, after one of the founders, Arthur Wong, gave up a banking career to pursue his love of food. Now, this thriving family-run restaurant is a popular hotspot for authentic Thai flavours.

Evelyn's

Evelyn's, in Manchester's lively Northern Quarter, prides itself on neighbourhood dining. It's so much more than a laidback local café though, with elegant dishes on the menu that are pleasing on your palate and on your Instagram account. So up and at 'em Manchester, because Evelyn's is open for breakfast, with eggs perfectly poached, scrambled or fried on avocado and sourdough. This is great food worth getting up bright and early to answer the door to.

Home Sweet Home

Home Sweet Home delivers indulgent diner classics with a focus on high quality ingredients to elevate their menu of all-American treats. For the ultimate duvet day, they serve up pillow-soft pancakes and Eggs Bennie on hot buttery muffins that are the perfect cure for when you're feeling a little fragile.

The Beagle

Craft beer and a burger – can you name a more iconic pairing? The Beagle's juicy chicken burgers – like the maple bacon-topped Sierra Madre – and a side of mac and cheese are the perfect combo with a couple of cold ones over the weekend. Think gastropub meets street food vendor, serving up American and Mexican classics for a lazy brunch, lunch, or a great night in.

Monty's

Monty's started life after the founders were longing for a good local, so decided to open their own and name it after their beloved dog. Their homemade, hand stretched pizzas are generously topped with creative flavour combinations like the New York deli inspired Escape from New York, and the chorizo and mascarpone masterpiece that is the Costa del Salford.

Yard & Coop

Fried chicken this finger lickin' is sometimes too good to share. Yard & Coop's founders trialled hundreds of chicken dishes before finding their winning recipe for fried chicken done properly – it's marinated in buttermilk before being crisped to perfection in the fryer. Either choose your favourite cut of chicken or chow down on one of their mammoth Yippy-Ki-Yay-Mutha-Clucka burgers. There's even a Yakety Wrap of buttermilk fried chicken, smashed avocado and bacon that's exclusive to order on Deliveroo.

Fox

Get all fired up by Fox's soft and chewy sourdough pizzas. Lightly charred in the wood-burning oven, Fox's pizzas take inspiration from classic flavours like the Fiorentina, as well innovating with their roast duck pizza complete with hoisin and cucumber. Fox's menu also extends way beyond pizzas and ensures that great ingredients – like their locally sourced Black Angus Beef – take centre stage after being cooked simply over an open-fire grill.

Stockyard - BBQ and Liquor

This is feel good finger food at its best, so don your bibs and get stuck in to all things BBQ at Stockyard. To get a true taste of the southern states, Stockyard imported their smoker from the US and fuel it with hickory chips to infuse a sweet, smokey flavour into dishes like their succulent smoked chicken – a meat lover's idea of heaven. But, the Half Way to Vegan burger won't disappoint vegetarian BBQ converts either.

Chaophraya

Escape the conditions of the windy city! Have you tried our delicious Tom-Yum yet? 😍🍲. 📸balchli

Chaophraya serves up traditional Thai cuisine with a contemporary twist, that centres around sharing small plates and Thai-style family dining. From classic Thai curries to delicate steamed dumplings, these dishes are fresh and elegant, so suit up and settle in for a sophisticated night on the sofa.
