Fish fans won't need to cast their net too wide to dine on some of the freshest and tastiest shellfish around, thanks to Loch Fyne. This seafood specialist has almost 40 years' experience bringing top-notch shellfish direct from loch to plate, so your sustainably sourced supper is in safe hands.
From the sea
Fresh seafood really is the catch of the day here. Kick your meal off the right way with a starter of pan fried chilli and garlic king prawns, mopping up those garlicky juices with granary bread, to really get your appetite up and running.
And moving onto the main event, we just love their Seafood Tagliatelle. This Loch Fyne classic works perfectly, with the fresh pasta providing the ideal base for the distinct flavours of the seafood. If this medley of Scottish scallops and mussels, squid and king prawns in a creamy white wine with fresh pasta doesn't float your boat, nothing will.
If you're feeling a little low, dive into a bowl of fresh, steaming hot mussels with a choice of four sauces, including vibrant Thai red curry and traditional white wine, garlic and herb. Or take comfort in a fish finger sandwich – and we promise this isn't like any fish finger sandwich you've seen before – served in a seeded brioche bun with a dollop of tartare sauce.
It all started with oysters
Loch Fyne began with a small shack, from which oyster enthusiasts Johnny Noble and Andy Lane started selling their shellfish on the banks of the loch on the west coast of Scotland way back in 1978.
As their reputation for selling fresh, sustainable and high quality produce grew, so did the business. A smokehouse and oyster bar opened near the shack, then restaurants in Nottingham and Peterborough followed. Fast-forward nearly 40 years, and now there's 37 Loch Fyne restaurants serving dishes up to seafood lovers across the country.
Loch Fyne's respect for its produce is apparent in its cooking too. You'll see how its culinary cleverness comes across in dishes like its poached Loch Fyne smoked haddock, or its show-stopping whole baked lobster.
Ordering with a non-fish lover? No problem. There's plenty on the menu for your vegetarian or carnivorous companions – all handily compiled in the From the Land section.
From the juicy chargrilled Aberdeen Angus burger with cheese and smoked bacon to a roasted half chicken with fragrant smoked paprika and rosemary butter, Loch Fyne show they're not a just limited to ocean delights.
Vegetarians can get in on the fun too, with an Avocado Super Salad or – our favourite – the Mushroom and Puy Lentil Burger – topped with cheddar cheese, a baked field mushroom, chipotle and mayonnaise and bundled into a seeded brioche bun.
