In September this year, the Government announced they would mandate calorie labelling in the restaurant and take-away sector. Their plans are for restaurants to display both the calories and the portion size of all dishes on their menus, and also the percentage of an adults daily intake that those calories represent. The Government has suggested that restaurants with fewer than 10 employees could be exempted.
We will respond to these proposals and would love to hear from you about how this change may impact your business. Now is the time to feed in your views to make sure the Government's plans can work better for the restaurant sector. The consultation closes on December 7th and is available here. If you would be interested in feeding into our response on behalf of restaurants, please let your account manager know and we'll be in touch to discuss further.
