You won't find run-of-the-mill pub grub at this Harborne hotspot. Instead The Plough does Cubanos sandwiches and a mammoth pizza menu, with creative toppings including spicy 'Nduja pork and candied bacon with pine nuts and fig.
Sabai Sabai has bagged its fair share of awards, including the Best Oriental Establishment at Food Awards England 2016. Founded by a husband and wife duo, their huge variety of vibrant Thai dishes will suit both spice-fiends that love a fiery Tom Yam, to mellow foodies more partial to a creamy Yellow Curry.
Asha's – another multi award-winner on Birmingham's foodie circuit – does high-end Indian dining. After starting out in Dubai, Asha's brought its north west Indian cuisine to Birmingham, with firm favourites like Butter Chicken and fragrant Chicken Jhalfrezi.
24 Carat Bistro
This cosy family-run Caribbean is tucked away in Hockley's Jewelry Quarter. It may be small but it's got a big following, with the TripAdvisors of Birmingham ranking 24 Carat Bistro as one of the best in the city, thanks to its home-cooked dishes including sweet and spicy Jerk Chicken and rich Curry Goat.
For a Meat Free Monday (or any day of the week for that matter), Cafe Soya's got it covered. Their fresh vegetarian and vegan Vietnamese-style dishes, like their Mock Crispy Aromatic Duck and Pancakes, are enough to convert any carnivore.
