Top 6 spots for the best Vietnamese in London

London is a melting pot of culture, so when it comes to cuisine, you couldn't be in a better place to order a new kind of food every night. From Chinese dim sum to Moroccan tagines, there's no end to what's on offer, but the popularity of Vietnamese food seems to be growing by the day. With that in mind, here's our list of favourites if you'd like to give it a try…

1. Pho

This place is up there as one of the key players on London's Viet foodie scene with their list of classic Vietnamese dishes all served up with a contemporary twist. We love their take on pho – an aromatic national dish that blends a rice noodle soup with fresh herbs to make a spectacular broth – their Pho Chin adds slow-cooked, succulent beef brisket.

It's the set menus you can find at Viet Eat that has people coming back again and again. These curated wonders bring a real a taste of traditional Vietnam to our capital. You'll get a selection of starters and mains to choose from, but we love their refreshing Summer Roll stuffed with Tiger Prawns, followed by their BBQ Honey Pork.

Serving up an array of authentic Vietnamese flavours stuffed into sandwiches, salads and crusty baguettes, kêu! is ideal for anyone needing lunch in a hurry. Our favourite is their selection of Banh Mi – from roast duck and crispy pork belly, to kimchi BBQ pork and tofu, there's a filling here to suit everyone.

Hawker's take a street-food approach, and their recreation of classic pho is not to be missed. Their rare beef pho has always been a favourite with takeaway customers – thinly-sliced rare silverside beef swimming in a delicately spiced chicken-infused broth, finished off with flat rice noodles and fresh herbs.

As you can probably tell from the name, the baguettes at Banh Mi Town are ideal for keeping you going throughout the day. But we can't get enough of their ever-popular meatball pho, served with crunchy beansprouts, onions and fresh herbs such as coriander, basil and mint. It also comes with a rich hoisin sauce on the side for dipping.

6. Bang Bang Canteen

Vietnamese food isn't just one of the tastiest types of cuisine, but also the healthiest, which is why the Bang Bang Canteen likes to experiment with making nutritious food that's delicious too. Their Beef Goi Du Du is a vibrant mix of kohlrabi, carrots, basil, mint, shallots and tender strips of beef dressed in a fragrant Nuoc Cham vinaigrette.
