Not a fan of raw sushi? Don't worry, you're not alone. But guess what? Just because you don't want your fish uncooked, that doesn't mean that you have to be excluded from the sushi craze. That's lucky when you think about it because all of Britain's best cities are absolutely hooked - and you can order sushi takeaway all over the country, from London to Manchester.
Speaking of Manchester, they've got some of the best places to try it, especially if you're a little cautious about the dishes that you pick. It's not all about fish that hasn't been cooked - in fact, sometimes it's not about fish (or meat) at all. Sushi is for everyone, and we're here to help show you how...
1. Sakura House - Salmon & Avocado Roll
Salmon and Avocado rolls are especially popular at Sakura House, and it's really no wonder why! Featuring two of the trendiest ingredients for 2017, customers can't get enough of these tasty treats. Luckily for them, there are six whole pieces to enjoy. With the country obsessed with avocados, we can see why these will be flying out of the ovens and whizzing through the streets to your door for 2018 as well.
2. Cottonpolis - Vegetable Fuko Maki
If you want elegant and sophisticated Japanese cuisine, you don't have to look too far - not least because Cottonpolis will deliver straight to your door! Manchester's elemental-based Japanese finger food is a favourite with Mancunians and even vegetarians can get in on the action because it's not all about fish! The Vegetable Futo Maki is chopped with vegetables and rolled with rice, for a really wholesome taste of Japan.
3. Sakana - Surf & Turf
Surf & Turf isn't your typical sushi order but one of the many special things about Manchester's Sakana is that they're really not afraid to push the boat out and be creative. There's a real selection of tasty dishes on offer here and cooked sushi is only just the beginning. Try this on for size; you get a fillet of beef, seared salmon, Jalapenos, mozzarella, cucumber, unagi sauce, and finally some crispy shallots. There's something for everyone - even the fussiest eater - so ordering this will go down a treat.
4. Sapporo Teppanyaki - Soft Shell Crab
Sapporo Teppanyaki brings the very best in fusion food to Manchester. Combining the best bits of Western faves with Japanese delicacies, this offers something different. Soft shell crab is fried and mixed with rice and nori seaweed and then topped with spicy tobiko sauce for a little twist. It comes in two pieces, for when one just isn't enough. It's different; but not enough to be scary, especially if you're quite new to sushi.
