We at Deliveroo are just SO into Italian cuisine, it only makes sense that we have a little chinwag to celeb chef and creator of My Pasta Bar, Gino D'Acampo.

Quite rightly thinking that people want delicious, fresh pasta right now, Gino developed express eatery, My Pasta Bar, to satisfy carb cravings on the go. Choose from a vast array of penne, fusilli, casarecce, spaghetti and fettucine, as well as pizza and other lunch options.

We meet the pasta pro to find out his restaurant recommendations, guilty food pleasures, and what his top tip is for Italian cooking.

Our interview with Gino D'Acampo

What did you have for dinner last night?

The whole family loves pasta, and last night I made a fantastico Pesto Genovese. You can try the same dish at all My Pasta Bars in London.

What restaurant have you visited recently that you'd recommend?

Piccolino in Exchange Square, London. You'll often find me there.

If you weren't a chef what would you be?

I don't mind, as long as I get to wear a white coat.

Which new dish at My Pasta Bar are you most excited about?

I'm very excited about our new King Prawn, Saffron & Chilli Risotto – it's delicious! We also have a new hot-breakfast menu coming soon. Most of the My Pasta Bar recipes are from my books and TV shows so you can try making them at home.

What are you afraid of?

Being bored. I need to be doing something all the time.

If you could get away with one crime, what would it be?

I never get away with anything!

What's the weirdest thing you've ever eaten?

It has to be the rotten egg on I'm A Celebrity. It was absolutely disgusting. I can still taste it!

Pasta is often considered an unhealthy option. What's your view on this?

No way! It's well known that the Italian diet is amongst the healthiest in the world.

What's the No.1 rule of Italian cooking?

It's all about the quality of the ingredients. Keep it simple, using fresh and, wherever possible, seasonal ingredients.

What's your favourite Italian restaurant in London and why?

Again, Piccolino is the place for me. Try the one on Heddon Street - great Italian food and a cool atmosphere.

What's your guilty food pleasure?

Kinder Eggs and Wotsits – but don't tell anyone.
