Birmingham may have a diverse dining scene, but it's old favourites like pizza that still top the takeaway charts. Whether you're looking for something unusual in the way of toppings, or just crave a well-cooked classic, here's a few of our favourite pizzerias in Birmingham...
1. Jamie's Pizzeria
Our classic Margherita with sweet tomato sauce, fresh basil, garlic, the best mozzarella & a drizzle of olive oil. Just £5 all this week at @JamiesItalianUK - check out this one by our chef @sergiuremes in Portsmouth 🙌🏻. Join us on @jamieoliver Facebook page very soon where he'll be going live in the kitchen showing you how we make this delicious artisan special!
This place is run by celebrity chef Jamie Oliver, who also captains the hugely popular Jamie's Italian, so you're guaranteed some great eats here. All their pizzas are made from sourdough, a healthier alternative that's also super low in gluten. For pizza in all its original glory, you can't go wrong with the classic Margherita – this superstar is topped with crushed tomatoes, basil, mozzarella and a drizzle of extra virgin olive oil.

Have you had your office party yet? Or are you generally feeling quite hungover due to over-indulgence (already) this Xmas? We have the answer. We've created a pizza which is medically proven (errr... sort of) to ease your pain. Juliette Kellow, nutritionist, says, 'Nothing can really cure a hangover except time, but there are certain things you can do that may help you feel better. One of the most important things you can do is to rehydrate1. As well as drinking plenty of water, eating vegetables like juicy cherry tomatoes, fresh spinach and crisp red peppers can help to replenish fluid intake as these ingredients contain around 90% fluid." We're always here for you #pizzaexpress
PizzaExpress is a household name here in the UK when it comes to Italian goodies. And they've been honing their pizza skills since 1965, so you know that there's some solid pizza logic behind every decision here. We love the Fiorentina, a vegetarian-friendly delight bundling on spinach, a free range egg, mozzarella, tomato, garlic oil and black olives, before being finished with Gran Milano cheese.

3. Pizza By Goli
Not everyone likes a tomato base, and the chefs of Pizza By Goli have listened to the cry of people who prefer their pizza without the sauce. The Primavera is a freshly-baked pizza base made from their own dough recipe, topped with melted mozzarella, ripe vine tomatoes, salty Parma ham, large flakes of parmesan cheese and fresh rocket.

4. Del Villaggio
Bizim kapalı pidemiz varsa İtalyanlar'ın Calzone'u var. Ve biliyorsunuz onlar her yerdeler.😊 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀🇬🇧@del_villaggio is a family run Italian restaurant that continues to grow in the eyes of the Birmingham community. So why not drop by and try the true taste of Italy, a little closer to home 🍕🍴🍷 #delvillagio #birmingham #bham #bhameats #brumbloggers #italiancuisine #calzone #pizza
Del Villaggio use authentic stone ovens to craft their thin, crispy creations, so we bet they'll have you reminiscing about your time in Naples. Try their Capricciosa pizza topped with mushrooms, crunchy artichokes, black olives and Parma ham, or opt for the gooey goodness of their Tuscan sausage calzone, bursting with cheese and traditional local herbs.

5. La Galleria
Authenticity is the beating heart of this family run restaurant, with everything from the freshest Italian ingredients to an imported pizza oven, they're all about the real deal. Our favourite is the fragrant Pollo Rosmarino – where juicy diced chicken breast, earthy mushrooms and sprigs of rosemary top a traditional tomato base with bubbling mozzarella.
