It will pass even the strictest clean eating regimen, or simply ensure that you've got plenty of room left for churros.
If you quite fancy a trip to Mexico but your bank account says no, a meal at Cantina Laredo's the next best thing. Its menu takes you on a whirlwind tour of Mexico's regions, showcasing traditional flavours with a little modern twist. Chicken quesadillas come in a blue corn tortilla, with Oaxacan cheese, poblano and sweet corn. Tacos are stuffed with confit duck and Nutella mole sauce, while the rib-eye steak is lovingly rubbed with yellow habanero butter. This is fancy-pants Mexican at its finest.

Daddy Donkey is a 'kick-ass Mexican grill' known for its awesome burritos. This Leather Lane street food stall is now one of London's top Mexican takeaways. Massive tortillas are stuffed with your choice of chicken, steak, carnitas, shredded beef or guacamole. Coriander-lime rice, black beans, cheese, salsa, sour cream and lettuce all somehow fit inside as well, making sure that every bite is basically epic. If you want to make your own tacos but can't really be bothered sourcing the ingredients, we'd like to introduce you to Lupita. This clever little Mexican restaurant delivers assembly kits with the filling of your choice, corn tortillas, crumbled cheese and all the toppings. So what kind of fillings are we talking about here? Chipotle-marinated chicken, grilled steak and nopales and pulled pork to name a few. Of course, the menu also features fully realised dishes like roasted vegetable burritos, grilled steak tortas and crunchy taquitos – no assembly required.
Owned and operated by a group of Mexican expats in London, Mestizo walks a more traditional line than the usual Tex-Mex you find here. This means you can try amazing, authentic dishes like tamales and cactus leaf salad. You're in luck if you're craving enchiladas, which come bathed in a rich, chocolate-tinged mole. The crepes are light and crispy, filled with courgette flowers or black corn mushrooms and baked with cheese sauce. Whatever you order, just save room for dessert. Between flan, tres leches cake and coconut cheesecake you may find it difficult to settle on just one pudding.
