Top 5 dishes in Brighton and Hove

Summer 2017 is here. The sun's out, the parks and the plastic glasses are full, and it's the perfect time to picnic.

In the past that meant a race against time and soggy sandwiches, lugging around impractically huge bowls of salad and a whole lot of prep. Not anymore. How about a curry, sushi, burgers, pizza or some tempting Thai brought right to you?

Whether you're in the park, or relaxing in the back garden you can order, collect, and enjoy in the sun. To help get you started, we've put together a guide to some of Brighton and Hove's greatest and tastiest dishes, all of them perfect for a sunny summer feast. Impromptu picnics have never been so easy.

The Viking Platter – Moshimo

If Vikings did sushi picnics, they would probably look something like this. A massive spread of yellowfin tuna, sea bass, prawn, salmon and veggie options like their famous kappamaki cucumber roll – this is a banquet that will leave you and your tastebuds firmly satisfied.

Polpetta pizza – Very Italian Pizza

Get a taste of Naples, the birthplace of everyone's favourite finger food, from these very important Italians. We recommend the Polpetta, with tomato & meat sauce and meatballs, because… well, what more do you need? It's meatballs on a pizza.

The Taxidriver burger – Gourmet Burger Kitchen

It's talkin' to you. This monster comes with American cheese, a house onion ring, cajun relish, smoked chilli mayo, dill pickle and salad. We think we finally found something more American than apple pie, and it's one of the best burgers you'll ever taste.

Massman curry – Thaikhun

Not as spicy as your average curry, but packed full of flavour all the same. Flavoured with cinnamon and star anise, and stacked up with potatoes, cashew nuts and your choice of meat or tofu, you'll quickly see why it's one of the most loved curries in Thailand.

The Grand Thali Box – The Chilli Pickle

You choose your curry, and the Chilli Pickle do the rest! They'll stack up rice, bread, poppadum, dal, raita, thoran, shorba, pickle, snacks and a dessert! The menu is inspired by husband-and-wife team Alun and Dawn's travels through India, and the Grand Thali Box is the jewel in the crown.
